Getting Started

Welcome to Rinelle - your virtual artisan! A cozy Discord bot designed to bring curated color roles and various community progression modules to your server without overwhelming your members or admins.

This guide will walk you through inviting Rinelle, configuring the necessary role permissions, and understanding how the modular system works.

1. Inviting Rinelle

To add Rinelle to your Discord server:

  1. Click the Invite Bot button in the header (or use your direct invite link).
  2. Select your destination server from the dropdown list.
  3. Keep the requested permissions checked so bot can properly function.
  4. Click Authorize to complete the invitation.

Note: If you prefer configuring permissions manually, you can always customize them after authorization. To ensure all atelier features work properly, make sure Rinelle has Manage Roles, Send Messages and Attach Files enabled in your server settings.

2. Server Role Hierarchy

Like any Discord bot that manages roles, Rinelle strictly adheres to Discord's role hierarchy, which only allows bots to assign and manage roles positioned below their own.

After inviting our virtual artisan, open Server Settings > Roles and simply drag the "Rinelle" role and position it according to your server structure:

  • Administrative & Moderation Roles: Keep these above for server security.
  • Basic/Util Roles: Place Rinelle above any roles it needs to manage (such as color roles, level rewards, and other cosmetic badges).
▲ Highest Position
│ 👑 Server Owner / Admin Roles
│ 🌸 Rinelle (Bot Role)
│ 🎨 Golden Artisan (Color Role)
│ 🎨 Sakura Bloom (Color Role)
│ ⭐ Level 15 (Member Level Role)
│ 👥 @everyone
▼ Lowest Position

Important: For color roles to display correctly on member usernames, ensure that any roles placed above them have their role color set to Default (transparent) in Discord.

Here is an example role hierarchy combining color roles and progression rewards. On this server - all members start with a default blue nickname from the Verified role, but because color roles are placed higher in the list, choosing them will smoothly override the base color.

3. Modular System Overview

Rinelle is designed around an opt-in modular philosophy. Color Roles are enabled by default as the core foundation, while progression and engagement systems remain completely inactive until you choose to enable them.

ModuleDescription
Color Roles CoreThe foundation of Rinelle. Curated color palettes, instant interactive menus, and seamless self-service role selection.
Member Leveling Opt-InA lightweight progression system that quietly rewards everyday conversations with rank milestones and unlocked palette rewards.
Community Currency Opt-InA balanced, low-maintenance economy module letting members earn coins through activity to spend on custom roles and styles.
